I designed it on my visits to Winnipeg as I was working at the same time on the National Archives in our Ottawa Office.

A sketch here, a sketch there and an excellent team led by my partner, Jim Yamashita. They made it sing.

In fact, Jim took it with him to another firm when he left IKOY and finished it.

I saw it in 2000 when I went to Lakehead University for an interview for the ATAC building I would later design.

I visit it often and smile.
